This time around, the Galaxy Z Fold5 will still be sporting a similar 7.6-inch Foldable Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen that, when folded –becomes 6.2-inch in size. With quite a high resolution, high 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ technology, you would enjoy every moment you spend watching movies, gaming or just web browsing on it.

Then there's a great deal of protection, with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 all around it, an Armour aluminium frame with tougher drop and scratch resistance providing additional help, and the IPX8 certification making it water resistant. In short, you can say that this flagship is quite indestructible.

Blessed with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, you know that it is seriously fast. Coupled with the fastest Cortex octa-core processor, great graphics and 12GB of RAM, there's no slowing down. Enjoy your favourite mobile games on the cover screen or unfold the expansive interior screen for a more immersive experience.

And with an impressive processor, you can easily power through missions and levels with a high refresh rate and minimal input delays.

Technically, the Galaxy Z Fold5 is still a smartphone; over here, you will have one of the best cameras. Coming in with a 50MP+10MP+12MP triple primary camera with all the bells and whistles, you will have a blast snapping away and capturing the best moments, either photos or videos, in the best possible shots. Dual PDAF (phase detection autofocus) and OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) will be there, providing you with all the necessary tools to take your best shot.

By taking lots of photos and videos, you should be worried about the storage side of things, right? Thankfully on the Galaxy Z Fold5, there's ample internal storage, with 256GB, 512GB or 1TB of space options. With the current pre-order promotion, you pay for the 256GB but you will be getting the 512GB version (plus all the other pre-order goodies that go with it).

In terms of battery, the Galaxy Z Fold5 will still be coming with a 4400 mAh battery of its predecessor, which might be a little smaller than we expected. I thought that there would be at least a slight improvement over here. But then again, it should be sufficient to last for a full day of charge before you need to plug it in. And when plugging it in, it only takes 30 minutes to get it up to 50% of charge. Amazing right?

Finally, we have the Galaxy Z Fold5 running on the latest Android operating system right out of the box and having dual-sim capability and 5G connectivity.

Conclusion:

A quick glance between the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and its predecessor from last year shows that there are not many changes. If you already have last year's model, you have very little motivation to upgrade. But if you are new to the foldable scene and have the dough for it, no other smartphone can stand up to it.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 is slated to be released on August 11th 2023 with a price tag of 1,799 USD for the 256GB internal storage variant, 1,799 USD (promo) for the 512GB internal storage variant, and 2,009 USD for the 1TB internal storage variant. Four colours to choose from: Icy Blue, Phantom Black, Cream, Gray and Blue.
